PC Kuvera de Zoysa Enters the Race for BASL Presidency

President’s Counsel Kuvera de Zoysa has officially announced his candidacy for the Presidency of the Bar Association of Sri Lanka (BASL) for the 2027/28 term. He steps into the race following a formal, written invitation from a distinguished group of legal luminaries, including several former BASL Presidents.

A Call for Strong Leadership Emphasizing the need for robust leadership amidst current complexities, the senior practitioners’ letter stated:

“Given the complex challenges currently faced by legal professionals, it is the majority view of the legal fraternity that strong and experienced leadership is required to unite all members of the Bar Association.”

Mr. de Zoysa’s bid is backed by a formidable coalition of leading lawyers from both Colombo and regional bars across the island. His endorsers include former BASL Presidents Dr. Romesh de Silva PC, Ikram Mohamed PC, W. Dayaratne PC, Geoffrey Alagaratnam PC, Dr. Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe PC, Kalinga Indatissa PC, U.
