HIKKADUWA:
The Chairman of Prestige Rubbers, Shasni Kamadeen, was arrested today in a special operation conducted in Hikkaduwa.
The raid was carried out by a special team from the Child and Women Bureau of the Police Headquarters, under the direct supervision of Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Darshika Kumari.
Acting on a specific intelligence tip-off regarding his location, the police team found the suspect hiding in a guesthouse in the Hikkaduwa area. Along with the Chairman, two other individuals who were reportedly from his residence were also taken into police custody during the operation.
Police sources confirmed that the arrested Chairman is currently being transported to Colombo for further interrogations and extensive investigations into the matter.
While the specific charges or the exact reason for the arrest have not yet been officially released, police headquarters confirmed that extensive investigations are currently underway.
