New Benchmark Set for Sri Lanka’s Real Estate Industry
Prime and Melwa have jointly inaugurated the Prime Marina Sales Suite at Port City Colombo, describing the development as a significant step towards positioning Sri Lanka’s real estate sector on the international stage. The launch event showcased what the developers termed a new standard for presenting large-scale residential developments to global investors and stakeholders.

The unveiling attracted distinguished guests, business leaders and international investors from Sri Lanka and overseas, highlighting the project’s ambitions within the country’s evolving real estate landscape.
Global Standards at the Core
Speaking at the event, Prime Group Co-Chairperson Sandamini Perera emphasized that the project was developed with a global outlook rather than a local benchmark.
“We started designing the Prime Marina Sales Suite premises knowing full well that everyone who walks here is a seasoned professional who has seen the best and brightest in the international real estate industry. Our yardstick or standard was not Sri Lanka, but the entire world,” she said.
According to the developers, the Sales Suite was designed to reflect the scale, vision and international aspirations associated with the Prime Marina project.
Strategic Marina-Front Location

Prime Marina is situated within the Marina Precinct of Port City Colombo, at the intersection of the Waterfront Bridge, the Indian Ocean and Marina Bay. The developers describe the location as one of the most strategically positioned waterfront sites within the city.
The project benefits from dual waterfront views, combining access to an active marina environment on one side with a natural creek setting on the other.
Large-Scale Residential Development
The development is planned as a high-rise residential complex comprising more than 550 homes. The project will include one, two, three and four-bedroom apartments, alongside luxury penthouses.
Prime Marina has been designed by Singapore-based P&T Singapore, while interior design work has been undertaken by Index Design Pte Ltd of Singapore. The landscape architecture has been entrusted to UK-based Grant Associates, known internationally for sustainable landscape and ecosystem design.
Long-Term Investment Vision

The project is being developed through the partnership of Prime and Melwa, two conglomerates with a longstanding presence in Sri Lanka’s real estate and economic sectors.
According to the developers, Prime Marina is intended to offer buyers not only residential ownership but also participation in the future growth of Port City Colombo as an emerging international urban destination.
As Port City Colombo continues its development, Prime Marina is being positioned as a flagship marina-front residential project aimed at establishing a new standard for waterfront living in South Asia.
